The Science Department is a cohesive team of dedicated teachers fully prepared to nurture and awaken the scientific minds of the students.
Here, under the careful guidance of the teachers, students are equipped with skills that help to open their minds to the power of Science. Students learn to probe with their inquisitive minds and develop into individuals who are creative, innovative and critical in their thinking. Driven by the inquiry-based learning (IBL) approach, students are constantly challenged to investigate scientific problems to uncover and understand key concepts and theories.
The Science curriculum is highly integrated across levels. Students at lower secondary level are exposed to the specialized disciplines of Biology, Chemistry and Physics which helps to prepare them for the courses offered at upper secondary level. This helps provide a strong foundation in the sciences for furthur education at pre-university and polytechnic levels.
Students from every level can look forward to the many exciting activities, excursions and competitions that are in store for them. Some of our programmes include Life Science activities such as bread and yoghurt making, DNA forensic workshop and profiling, Cell World, PET Rocket Enrichment, and UNSW International Science Competition and Assessment. Opportunities are also available for students to showcase their talents and achievements at various platforms such as school-based or public exhibitions.
